The Athletics Department will also host "Paperwork & Payment Drop-off Nights" on Monday, Nov. 24th and Tuesday, Nov. 25th in the Sandwich HS front lobby from 5 - 7pm. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to use these opportunities to drop-off copies of physicals and participation payment fees. Registration will close on Wednesday, Nov. 26th!
Tryouts/practice for the following High School sport programs will begin on Monday, December 1st:

* 8th Grade student-athletes will have the opportunity to tryout for the following high school winter sport programs: Ice Hockey (Girls), Swimming & Diving (Boys & Girls), Track & Field, Indoor (Boys & Girls), Wrestling.
Tryout/practice for the following STEM Academy sport programs will begin on Monday, December 8th:
STEM Academy Basketball, Boysk (8th Grade Only)
STEM Academy Basketball, Girls (8th Grade Only)
Instructional Fitness (7th & 8th Grade)

Before any student can tryout or participate in a sport at Sandwich HS or STEM Academy, the following requirements must be met:
• Student-athletes and parents/guardians must read the Sandwich HS Student Handbook and/or STEM Academy Student Handbook.
• The appropriate participation fee, made payable to "SHS ARA" or “Sandwich HS Athletic Revolving Account”, must be delivered to the Athletics Office at Sandwich HS (Rm. A101). A student that qualifies for free or reduced lunch can request a fee waiver. Fee waivers must be applied for in writing and directed to the Administrator for Athletics at nmurphy@sandwich.k12.ma.us.

The annual family cap for High School is $600. The annual family cap for STEM Academy is $400. The family cap applies to High School and/or STEM Academy sport participation only and is not associated with high school and/or STEM Academy club/activity fees. If the participation fee has not been received, the student-athlete will not be permitted to participate in tryouts, practices, or contests.
• All student-athletes MUST DELIVER A COPY OF THEIR MOST RECENT PHYSICAL directly to the Athletics Office (Rm. A101) or utilize the "Paperwork & Payment Drop-off Nights" on Monday, Nov. 24th and Tuesday, Nov. 25th in the Sandwich HS front lobby from 5 - 7pm. Do not assume that a copy is on file in the School Nurse's Office or elsewhere.
Physicals are good for 13 months from the date of the exam. A small number of physicals will be made available for financial hardship cases. Student-athletes with expired physicals will not be permitted to participate in tryouts, practices, or contests until proof of an updated physical has been received.
• Parent/guardian must have completed the online concussion course in the past 12 months. The free course can be found HERE.
• Parents/guardians are responsible for filling out the online registration form completely and ensuring that any and all medical information concerning your child’s health, medical concerns, injuries, medications, and allergies are reported to the Dept. of Athletics and coaching staff.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Without proof of a physical and payment of the appropriate participation fee, student-athletes will not be able to tryout for a sport at Sandwich HS or STEM Academy. There will be no exceptions.
