CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Loyola University Maryland freshman Margaret Garrahan has been named the Corvias Patriot League Women's Diver of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday. Sophomores Tara Mulligan, Aidan O'Hara and Noel Theroux were also included among the league's honorable mention performances.
Garrahan swept the diving titles on Saturday against conference-foe Lehigh at Loyola's Mangione Pool at the Fitness and Aquatics Center. The native of East Sandwich, Massachusetts, claimed the 1-meter boards with a score of 199.87 to beat teammate Katie Ray (183.74). In the 3-meter competition, Garrahan won with a point total of 215.32.
This marks the first career player of the week accolade for Garrahan, while it's also the first for the Greyhounds' women's team this season.
Loyola will return to action on Thursday when it heads to La Salle for a dual meet. Events are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
