Gary White Memorial Ultimate Tournament | Sat., Aug. 29th

A little over a month ago, a beautiful man named Gary White passed away. Gary was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and coach. In his short life he touched everyone around him with his genuine heart, dry sense of humor, and passion for his family and friends. Gary was an avid Ultimate player and an iconic figure running barefoot on our Sandwich streets while training for marathons. We are so proud to announce the very first annual Gary White Memorial Ultimate Tournament!

The Gary White Memorial Ultimate Tournament (aka "G-DUB" - Gosh Darn Ultimate Blast!) will take place on Saturday, Aug. 29th from 8am to 12noon at the YMCA's Camp Lyndon in Sandwich. The registration fee per team of 7-10 players is $100. Each team will play 3 round robin games then may qualify for semifinals and finals. We will also have individual competitions for longest throw, most accurate throw, etc. Prizes will be awarded to the winners! The G-DUB is open to all levels of competition and individuals wishing to play will be placed on a team. The beach at Camp Lyndon will be open for swimming, so families with children are welcome!

Tee shirts will be given to players and volunteers - memorial tournament discs (frisbees) along with food and drink will be sold, as well. Most importantly, there will be lots of laughter, fun, and good old-fashioned competitive spirit going on to raise money for a great cause in honor of a great man. Net proceeds raised from this event will be donated back to help support the wonderful youth sports and camp programs at the YMCA's Camp Lyndon.
