Catalini Tabbed to Direct SHS Girls Basketball


East Sandwich, Mass. – The Sandwich High School department of athletics has announced the appointment of Robert Catalini to the position of head coach for girls basketball.

Bob Catalini, a MIAA (Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association) and NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) certified coach, is a long-time educator with extensive and diverse basketball experience. Throughout his professional career he has served as a teacher, coach, and director of athletics in the Groton-Dunstable and Old Rochester school districts. His coaching resume includes stints at Fitchburg State University, Groton-Dunstable Regional High School, Mashpee High School, Sandwich High School, and the Bay State Summer Games.

Coach Catalini has owned and operated two highly successful basketball camps; Crusader Basketball Camp (Groton, Mass.) and Big League Basketball Camp (Cape Cod). Most recently, he has been focusing his time and effort on working with individuals and small groups on basketball skill development, officiating high school soccer and basketball games, and teaching coach certification courses through the MIAA and NFHS.

The first permissible day for girls basketball is Monday, November 30th.
