Fan Behavior Guidelines & Expectations

The behavior in our stands during Sandwich High School athletic contests needs to improve. At times, the language and conduct, particularly in our student section, has been completely unacceptable. Given the fact that Sandwich Public School students are admitted free of charge, the very least you should do is behave yourself when in attendance. Our student-athletes, coaches, and community deserve better. Before attending your next game, familiarize yourself with these guidelines and expectations by clicking HERE. Violations will not be tolerated. Visit the Athletics Department for more information.

GUIDELINES & EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENT-FAN
& PARENT-FAN BEHAVIOR

ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR
Have as much fun as humanly possible while abiding by the following guidelines.

  • Maintain enthusiasm and composure, serving as a role model for Blue Knight Pride.
  • Participate positively in the event or contest by supporting the coaches and participants.
  • Cheering for outstanding performance, not against opponents or to ridicule an error.
  • Be an exemplary role model by positively supporting teams in every manner possible, including content of cheers and signs.
  • Show respect and concern for an injured player, regardless of team.
  • Respect decisions made by contest officials.
  • Stand quietly, remove hats, and show respect during the playing or singing of the National Anthem.
  • Realize that a ticket (or FREE access for Sandwich Public School students with student ID) represents a privilege and a responsibility to observe and positively support a high school activity, not a license to verbally assault others or be generally obnoxious.
  • Respect fans, coaches, and participants.
  • Encourage surrounding fans to display only sportsmanlike conduct.
  • Resist being drawn into negative conduct by other fans, including opposing fans and/or players.
