Eldredge & Trimble to Direct SHS Tennis Programs

The Sandwich High School department of athletics has announced the appointment of two head tennis coaches for the upcoming spring season. STEM Academy teacher, Eric Eldredge, will lead the Sandwich HS boys tennis team, while STEM Academy colleague and long-time teacher/coach, Peter Trimble, will direct the girls program.
Coach Eldredge, a Cape Cod Academy and Boston College graduate, has been playing competitively and coaching tennis nearly his entire life. He has coached and instructed youth tennis at Kings Grant Racquet Club (Cotuit), Mashpee Middle School, Boston College Recreation, and co-founded "Tennis for Everyone," a summer program on Cape Cod for underprivileged children.

Coach Trimble, a Sandwich Public Schools science and engineering teacher for 30+ years, attended Barnstable High School where he lettered in soccer, ice hockey, and tennis. He continued to play ice hockey and tennis as an undergraduate at the University of Connecticut. Over the course of his career, Coach Trimble has coached tennis (7 years at Sandwich HS), soccer, basketball, and ice hockey at the middle school and high school levels. He is also a high school soccer official.

When the weather clears and the snow melts, both tennis programs at Sandwich HS will be in great hands with Coach Eldredge and Coach Trimble. The first permissible day for spring sport practice is Monday, March 16th.
