STEM Academy Outdoor Track & Field and Softball Update

As with any new program, projecting participation numbers prior to the start of the season is difficult. Due to low participation numbers at the STEM & High School levels, we have decided to make the following changes for the upcoming spring season:

• We will be unable to support a STEM Academy Outdoor Track & Field team. Instead, 8th Graders will participate at the high school level. If enough interest exists at the 7th Grade level, a Spring Running Club will be created and begin in late-March.
• 8th Graders are now eligible to tryout for high school Softball.
• 7th Graders are now eligible to play STEM Academy Softball.

The high school boys & girls track teams will meet after school in the SHS Large Cafeteria on Mon. 3/16 at 2:45pm. 8th Graders interested in participating should attend this meeting to discuss the upcoming season with the coaching staff. 
8th Graders interested in trying out for high school Softball should attend practice on Mon. 3/16 at 7:15pm in the SHS Gymnasium.

STEM Academy Softball will not officially begin until Mon. 3/30. 8th Graders not interested in playing high school Softball, and 7th Graders, are eligible to register and play.
