Winter Sport Student-Athletes: Register Online Today!

Online registration for High School & STEM Academy winter sport activities is currently open. Registration will close on Wed., Nov. 26th, so enroll today by clicking HERE! The Athletics Department will also host "Paperwork & Payment Drop-off Nights" on Monday, Nov. 24th and Tuesday, Nov. 25th in the Sandwich HS front lobby from 5 - 7pm. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to use these opportunities to drop-off copies of physicals and participation payment fees. 

Legendary Athlete Preparation Coach, Ian King, to Visit SHS!

Sandwich High School Athletics, in conjunction with Compass Athletics, is excited to host legendary Athlete Preparation Coach, Ian King, for a no-charge evening presentation on “How to Succeed as a Student-Athlete | Coach | Parent | Team!” on Wednesday, Nov. 19th at 6:30pm. Anyone, from Sandwich or our surrounding communities, interested in learning more about athletic preparation and success is encouraged to attend! Much more HERE!

2014 MIAA Tournament Updates

Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)

Our first Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 21st at 6pm in the high school conference room.  If you have received an invitation to attend, but have not yet confirmed with Mr. Tomasini, please do so asap.  Looking forward to your thoughts and ideas on how to enhance the student-athlete experience at Sandwich High School!

STEM Fall Sports Night | Monday, Sept. 22nd

STEM Academy Fall Sports Night will be held on Monday 9/22 at 6:30pm in the High School Auditorium.  A parent/guardian and all STEM Academy student-athletes participating in Cross Country, Field Hockey, or Soccer must attend.

Fall Athletics at SHS & STEM Well Underway!

As construction continues at DeConto Stadium and in the pool, our high school and inaugural STEM Academy fall athletics programs are well underway.  As of today, 370 student-athletes are registered to compete at the high school level, while 217 are registered to participate in our STEM Academy programs.  Amazing!  Many thanks to everyone, especially our coaching staff, for making these opportunities possible.  Best of luck this season Knights & Squires!

STEM Athletics - First Meeting/Practice Information

Monday, September 15th marks the first day of STEM Academy athletic programming.  When school ends at 2:30pm that afternoon, STEM student-athletes should meet with their coaches before changing for practice.  Please note, the first day for Instructional Fitness for Girls & Instructional Coed Volleyball is Tuesday, September 16th.  See below for specific information regarding meeting times and locations:

STEM Academy Coaching Staff Announced

The Sandwich HS & STEM Academy Department of Athletics is excited to announce the hiring of the following educators to coach and supervise our STEM Academy athletics programs this fall!

STEM Academy Athletics Information

• STEM Academy sport programs will begin after school on Monday, September 15th.

• This fall, we intend to offer interscholastic programs in Coed Cross Country (7th & 8th Graders), Field Hockey (7th & 8th Graders), and Boys & Girls Soccer (8th Graders Only).  In terms of STEM Academy students participating in a high school sport, 8th Graders will have the opportunity tryout for Boys Golf this fall.

Boys Golf Team Busy Coordinating Charity Event

Members of the 2014 SHS Boys Golf team are busy coordinating multiple charity events to be held in September at Sandwich Hollows & The Ridge Club.  On Sept. 13th & 14th and Sept. 20th & 21st, members of the team will be at Hollows and Ridge to collect used golf equipment and donations.

Greg & Cayla Carbone Welcome First Child!

Congratulations to Sandwich High School girls varsity basketball head coach, Greg Carbone, and his wife Cayla on the arrival of their first child, Clayton John "CJ" Carbone!

Joseph Tarantello Named STEM Academy Coed Cross Country Coach

Joseph Tarantello comes to Sandwich Public Schools after serving 4 years at New Milford High School in Connecticut. Joseph has been hired to serve as the Head Coach of the coed STEM Cross Country team and is the new Instructional Technology teacher at Sandwich High School.  

Bill O'Connell Named Head Football Coach

Bill O'Connell, a nine-year football assistant at Coyle & Cassidy High School in Taunton, Mass., has been hired to serve as head football coach, physical education teacher, and chair of the health, wellness, and fine, applied, and theater arts department at Sandwich High School.  

Ken Perry Named Boys Cross Country Head Coach

Ken Perry, who served as a track & field assistant coach this past spring at Sandwich HS, has been named head coach of the boys cross country program for the upcoming season.
